The culmination of the LEGO x Nintendo team-up launched in stores August 1st., and it should come as no surprise that the set, 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System, flew off shelves faster than it takes Super Mario to say “Woohoo!” Now that the set has been out for a few weeks, let’s dive into the details of the LEGO version of the iconic NES videogame console and TV display and help you find out if it’s really worth spending your coins & power-ups on.
The set, which includes the iconic NES console and controller, vintage Super Mario Bros. cartridge, and a 1980’s-style TV, contains 2646 bricks. After some initial confusion over the retail price, LEGO finally settled on US $229.99, CA $299.99, UK £209.99.
The build features the really cool ability to interact with the LEGO Mario figure from other LEGO Super Mario themed sets. Here’s a great description of the set from the LEGO online shop.
